Week 4 Blog: Carson Allen

Creating a general timeline for a project is essential in developing a good project because it allows for our team to know what we want to do before we even do it. For example, by the time we start filming Jacob cooking, we will know what shots we want, what food he will make, and a general script of how he will present the food. This will speed up our content creation process significantly, allowing more time for us to review and possibly make necessary changes. The Project we decided to go with was to have Jacob Benson teach us all how to cook exquisite cuisine in a college students budget. From there we will all try to replicate this dish separately and have Jacob choose the best one. Possible challenges with this project include, having to share a kitchen with Jacob’s roommates and setting up good lighting in a small apartment.

My role this week was to expand on the two ideas I came up with for our team pitch and then to present on my personal favorite idea Husker Cats. I didn’t encounter many challenges this week besides some small anxiety about presenting our group ideas in front of the class. In the future, I would focus more on my breathing during the presentation and communicate with my group about my fear of public speaking so that we can have a contingency plan if I were to get stuck while presenting.
