Week 4 Blog

Creating a schedule for the project is one of the most important factors that fall under the organization category, next to communication. Before I, Jacob, start the cooking project, we as a group want to decide on what types of shots we want to use while creating content and capturing it on camera. We want to have come to a consensus on every detail we want to do for the project so we know we are all on the same page and there are no surprises or disagreements. This includes video edits, sound tracks, and most of all, location combined with content. This also helps make sure everyone in the group can play a role and it’s not so one-sided. We chose to the cooking project because not only is it entirely more practical than Team Teamy’s other ideas, but it will also be the most fun and entertaining. We wouldn’t have to interview outside sources so we can keep it pretty close to home while making it a very fun environment and come closer together as a team.

The only challenges I can see happening for this project is everyone agreeing on a time, while we put our availability down before the teams were created, things might come up that can conflict with days we want to film. Another challenge would be, what if we can’t agree on what we want to make? Everyone has different tastes and styles so it can be difficult to decide on one idea for a meal.

This week I added more to the cooking idea and presented it in class. I also created polls for our group to vote on what project we should do and we all unanimously chose the cooking idea! It was challenging this week on a slight lack of communication but after discussing our plans amongst ourselves, communication has and will improve. In the future I want a fluctuation of ideas. I am being open minded on this project and in my opinion there are no bad ideas. I want to hear what everyone has to say and then we vote on the best idea.
